New Employment Permits Online System
In September the Department of Jobs Enterprises and Innovation (DJEI) will implement its new Employment Permit Online System (EPOS). Once rolled out, EPOS allows for employment permit applications and submissions of supporting documents to be made online. Where applicable, fees will also be payable by credit or debit card via a secure payment gateway.
During the implementation phase, applicants need to be prepared for delays in processing as well as changes in document requirements.
Legislative Amendments to employment permits for intra-company trainee transfers
As of August 2 2016, the Department of Jobs Enterprises and Innovation (DJEI) has reduced the minimum period for foreign trainees under the
Intra-Company Transfer Employment Permit Scheme
. The minimum employment period was reduced from previously 6 to now 1 month.
