Follow-up – „Successful labor market integration of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Austria“ (Kopie 1)

On April 18th, 2016 our event “„Successful labor market integration of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Austria“ took place in Vienna.
Twelve interested participants from diverse fields obtained information on opportunities and challenges of the labor market integration of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Austria in an interactive exchange of views and thoughts. Among others, well-known companies such as OMV and REWE International, important Austrian economic institutions such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Austrian Industries, as well as the first Austrian job platform for refugees – refugeeswork.at – were represented.
The aim of the event was to inform and to discuss, as well as to inspire actions. Our intercultural adviser Bassam Elemam started the event by delighting the audience with his expertise on cultural aspects of the integration of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants as well as with his personal experiences and examples that emphasized the practical and overall relevance of the topic. Alexander Höpfner, psychologist, illustrated the activities of ICUnet.AG with presenting several successful projects conducted by the “Workshop of Diversity” as well as with interesting remarks to ICU-solutions in the field of intercultural assessment. The legal part was presented by Dunja Bogdanovic, lawyer and adviser to the counseling center for migrants in Vienna, and offered the participants useful information concerning the legal situation in Austria.
The ICUnet.AG is glad about the interest in this subject, especially in regard to the divided political situation in Austria. With the election of Dr. Van der Bellen as the Austrian President, the Austrian people set a sign into the right direction.
To all interested parties who could not attend the event, we are happy to send all presentations and information. Just send a short e-mail to nesiba.snagic@icunet.ag.
