USA: Companies hiring non-immigrant visa workers have to expect on-site inspections

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will regularly conduct unannounced on-site inspections to check the employer’s compliance with the L1 Visa terms and regulations of their foreign personnel.
A prior adjudication is not necessary for these procedures. The increased number of these inspections has been justified with the potential for fraud and abuse of the Visa by American employers of staff hired on basis of the L1 Visa type. The same applies to personnel with the H1B Visa, which has already been in focus of inspections in the past years.
